RCC Framed Structure and Load Bearing Structure - Some basic differences

RCC Framed Structure and Load Bearing Structure

We are going to discuss the difference between RCC framed structure and Load bearing structure. Load Bearing Structure is popularly known as Wall Bearing Structure and RCC Structure is known as Column Beam Structure.

RCC Framed Structure

In RCC Framed Structure,  loads are transferred from slab to beam and beam to column and the finally transferred to the foundation.
Walls are constructed after the frame is ready. The thickness  of wall is less as compared to the load bearing structure because the load is transferred only through frame.
There is no limitation of  height of walls we can increase as much as we want. It can be constructed on any type of soil and resistance is very good for an earthquake. We required skilled labour for the construction of RCC buildings.

Load Bearing Structure

In Load Bearing Structure, load are transferred through the walls and  finally transferred to the foundation. The thickness of wall must be more as compared to RCC framed structure. There is a limitation of  height of walls. We cannot build more than three story. Both skilled and unskilled labour can work. We required hard strata for foundation.
