Slab bridges
Slab bridges are suitable for span up to 10 metre. In this type of bridge a simple slab of uniform thickness is laid over abutment. It is used for small culverts and bridges.
Rigid Frame Bridge
This type of bridge is suitable for span upto 20 m and where more clearance is required below the bridge. In this type of construction horizontal deck slab is made monolithic with the vertical abandonment wall.

Balanced Cantilever Bridge
It is suitable for span in the range of about 35 to 60 m. In this type of bridge, the slab carrying the bridge floor is simply supported over balanced cantilevers.
Barrel Arch Bridge
Barrel arch bridges are suitable for span upto 70 and for medium traffic load where side banks are firm to resist the horizontal thrust of the earth. Front and back walls are provided along the sides of the arches and the space between them is filled with soil or sand.
T - Beam and Slab Bridges
This type of bridge is suitable for moderate span and where traffic is heavy but causes no sudden impact of the bridge in T - beam and slab bridge, simply supported over abutments and piers.
