Object of plastering and its requirement

    Plastering

 Plastering is the process of covering of rough surface of walls, columns, ceiling and other building components within coat of plastic motor to form a smooth durable surface. The coating of plastic material that is motor is termed as plaster plaster on external exposed surface is known as rendering.

   Object of Plastering

 Plastering is done to achieve the following objects : -

1.  To protect the external surface against penetratration of rainwater and other atmospheric agencies.
2.  To give a smooth surface in which dust and dirts cannot lodge.
3.  To give a creative effect.
4.  To protect surface against termite to conceal inferior material or defective workmanship.
5.  To give aesthetic views.

   Requirement of Good Plaster

The Plaster material should fulfill the following requirements : -

1. It should be hard and durable.
2. It should possess good workability.
3. It should be possible to apply it during all weather conditions.
4. It should be cheap.
5. It should effectively check the penetration of moisture.
6. It should adhered to the background and should remain adhered during all variation is seasons and atmospheric conditions.

 According to the use of the Plaster, we can classified into following categories : -

3. Rough Cast plaster
4. Pebble Desh plaster
5. Scrapped Finish
6. Textured Finish
